Notice of Rent Increase- Rent Act 1977 Tenancy

When a Rent Officer sets a new fair rent for a tenancy under the Rent Act 1977 the rent does not automatically increase.  A notice must be served on the tenant to increase the rent up to the new maximum set by the Rent Officer and no increase is valid without such a notice.  This notice will do that.  It cannot be used to increase the rent without a determination of a fair rent by a Rent Officer.
