David Smith

David Smith

David Smith gained his degree and doctorate in International Relations and worked as a university lecturer before retraining in law. He has successfully combined his academic experience with his legal training and now concentrates on following the complex changes in landlord and tenant law. He spends much of his time training and lecturing to landlords, lettings agents, and solicitors on landlord and tenant matters. He is already widely seen as a key voice on landlord and tenant matters and is an aknowledged expert in the Housing Act 2004.

David is also an accredited mediator with two of the main mediation organisations and volunteers for a local charity dealing with neighbourhood disputes as a mediator and trustee.  He has been described by past users as "very professional" with "a nice touch".  David is a keen advocate of mediation and has spoken on the topic at all levels. He is available for mediation bookings, particularly in the property field. He describes himself as a consensus mediator and believes that his varied training and mediation experience make him highly suited to the challenge of more emotional and complex mediations.
