Adjudication

Adjudication is a simple, cheap and fast method for settling disputes It was originally developed for construction industry disputes but has now found a new role as a method for resolving tenancy deposit disputes under the new tenancy deposit protection schemes introduced by the Housing Act 2004.

Members of PainSmith Solicitors provide advice and training to the adjudicators of one of the deposit protection schemes and have also written extensively on the legislation. They are therefore well-placed to advise landlords and their agents on how best to deal with the various schemes and what their liabilities are if deposits have not been properly registered.
